Plato’s Atlantis, the Unlost Island
It was never really lost, just mis-identified and misplaced due to a couple of errors, one of perception and one of translation. Plato’s descriptions in Timaeus and Critias (T&C), of the island fits extremely well with the British Isles.
If we compare the pattern of events in T&C with the broad scope of events coming to light in modern times, the convergence of ancient story telling and the revelations of modern archaeology and science is absolutely intriguing.
Conflict in and Around the Aegean Sea
Until quite recently, the ethnicity of populations in and around the Aegean Sea have not been carefully studied, but massive strides in locating the origins of various groups have been made thanks to advances in the study of ancient and modern DNA. The correlations between modern science and the ancient stories is likewise creating a clearer picture of relationships in pre-history.
